[عدو يجاهرك بالعداء خير من صديق زائف

Don't count your chikens before they are hatched
[لا تقول سمسم حتى تلهم

Everybody's business is nobody's business
[ما حك جلدك مثل ظفرك

He who pays the piper can call a tune
[من يدفع يأمر (زمر ابنك يا عجوز]

Forbidden fruit is sweet
[كل ممنوع مرغوب

Don't cry over spilt milk
[ما فات مات

Barking dogs seldom bite
[الكلب الذي ينبح لا يعض

Believe not all that you see nor half what you hear
[لاتصدق كل ما تراه ولا تصدق نصف ما تسمع

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
[ ان البعد يزيد القلب لوعة
A soft answer turneth away wrath
[الجواب الرقيق يسكت الغضب
